Haigh's Chocolates

On the 23rd of February, a bunch of us visited Haigh's Chocolates! It's an Australian chocolate factory, which still produces a lot of handmade chocolates. There aren't many Haigh's Chocolates around and they're only found in Australia. About 18 of us went to the chocolate factory together by bus.

It was actually the Haigh's Chocolate Visitors Centre where they had a shop in front and a factory in the back. We were given a free guided tour where this really entertaining lady told us all about the history of Haigh's Chocolate. The Haigh's family actually learnt to make chocolate from the Lindt's!! (Lindt's are my favourite!) We were generously given some chocolates to taste. Did I say some? I meant LOTS! I tell you, they make some REALLY GOOD dark chocolate. And the bimbo nut loved their milk chocolates. After the whole history lesson, we got to visit the factory. Well, just sorta visit it cos we didn't get to get up, close and personal with the chocolates and the machines. We looked at them from behind a glass window. Interesting all the same. In fact, one of the machines reminded me of something I've seen in a pharmaceutical factory! =) Now, for the photos. No photos of the factory though. Cameras not allowed!
